Expect the Unexpected - Pamela's Story

Pamela and her husband Matt were thrilled to become new parents, and couldn't wait for their baby girl, Sophie, to enter the world. Choosing the right place to deliver was very important to them and they were overjoyed with their experience with LAMC. 

Choosing the Right Hospital

Two years ago, Pamela and Matt moved from Austria to Los Alamos, NM. Since living in Los Alamos, the couple hadn't built a connection to any hospital and wanted to make sure they chose the perfect location for the birth of their first child. "After visiting other hospitals in the surrounding cities and following the excellent recommendation of my OB/GYN, Dr. Sharon Ransom, we decided to deliver at LAMC given the excellent closer care by the qualified professionals, and the humanistic touch in the medicine provided."

The Birth Experience

Pamela's birth experience started with the labor induction. Everything was going well, but the baby's heart rate started to fluctuate a little higher than expected. After 30 hours, Dr. Moore suggested Pamela undergo a c-section. "My husband was extremely afraid, but the c-section experience was overall excellent, and our baby was delivered 20 minutes after Dr. Moore assessed the situation," said Pamela.

Even though Pamela and Matt didn't plan to have a c-section, they were very pleased with the outcome and were happy to have a healthy baby. "My husband was really impressed with Dr. Moore and his staff's professionalism during the surgery. Everything was so well conducted that I was discharged from the hospital two days later with minor pain and I was walking perfectly."

Personalized Care

Our compassionate staff goes above and beyond to make sure patients are taken care of. "The nurses were extraordinary! We received nurse care from Kara, Doris, Laura and Terresa. We were particularly impressed with their extensive knowledge as we asked so many questions and they answered them all," said Pamela. "We were also impressed by all the recommendations they provided us during the induction and after the c-section. They were super nice to us, and we had close attention from professionals that really care about their patient's well-being and happiness. We would like to thank the LAMC for that."
