Los Alamos Relay for Life A Huge Success; Thanks to All
August 24, 2015
The 2015 Los Alamos Relay for Life was a huge success thanks to all the dedicated volunteers and donors. Over $30,000 was raised. “This was a great fundraising year and a great turnaround over last year,” stated Manuel Luna of American Cancer Society. The most money ever raised at a Los Alamos Relay for Life was $34,000 in 2009.
“I am delighted with the outcome of the event,” said Mary Beth Maassen, Marketing Director of Los Alamos Medical Center and local Relay organizer. “ACS will be able to do a lot of wonderful work with the money and it is a great way to honor those who have battled cancer. LAMC looks forward to a greater challenge with the 2016 Relay for Life.” Maassen hopes to exceed the 2009 record in 2016.
Los Alamos Medical Center would like to thank their partners in this successful fundraising effort, including Los Alamos County, KRSN 1490AM, the Los Alamos Daily Post, Gillian’s Flowers, Village Arts, Masonic Lodge #66, Pat Pangea, Vera Jaramillo of the Family YMCA, Classic Air Medical, The Los Alamos Fire Department, Russ Gordon’s Summer Concert Series, Blue Window Bistro, The Los Alamos Hill Stompers, The Los Alamos High School Marching Band, Jackie Veauthier, Nina Thayer, Hope Jaramillo, The Hill Talkers, The Los Alamos High School Key Club, The Los Alamos Kiwanis Club, and a whole host of unsung heroes! Thank you for stepping up to the challenge!
The final Relay for Life 2015 meeting will be held at Los Alamos Medical Center on Thursday, September 3 at 6:00 p.m. in the large conference room.
