Dr. Michelle Carr

Michelle Carr, MD, began her practice of Family Medicine at Medical Associates of Northern New Mexico on August 11. Dr. Carr comes to Los Alamos Medical Center from Denison, Texas, where she was a full-time family practice (FP) physician at TexomaCare since September 2003.

Previous to practicing in Denison, Dr. Carr was an FP staff physician and Officer in Charge at the US Army Thomas Moore Health Clinic in Ft. Hood, TX, and an FP staff physician and Chief of the Medical Staff at the US Army Hanau Health Clinic in Hanau, Germany.

Dr. Carr received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, with cellular emphasis, from the University of California at Berkeley in 1991, and her MD degree from Loyola Stritch School of Medicine in Illinois in 1996. She completed her family practice residency at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Ft. Gordon, GA, in 1999. She is board certified in Family Practice, having scored in the top 5% nationally in both her initial certification and recertification processes.
