Richard W. Honsinger, MD
Richard W. Honsinger, MD, MACP, is board certified in internal medicine and allergy/immunology, and recertified in both fields. He grew up in the state of Washington and graduated with honors from Washington State University, where he was named to Phi Beta Kappa.
Dr. Honsinger graduated with honors from the Univeristy of Washington School of Medicine and was named to Alpha Omega Alpha. He is a clinical professor at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. Dr. Honsinger received post-graduate training in Internal Medicine and Alltergy/Immunology at the University of North Carolina and the Univesity of Washington.
A fellow of the American Acacdemy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, as well as the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, Dr. Honsinger is also a master of the American College of Physicians. He is listed in the Best Doctors in America in the Internal Medicine and Allergy/Immunology sections and received the Distinguished Laureate Award for the New Mexico Chapter of ACP in 1997. He has served as the New Mexico governor of the ACP, is a member of the New Mexico Allergy Society, a director of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, and served three terms as Chief of Staff at Los Alamos Medical Center.
Dr. Honsinger has been active in medical research and is a frequent lecturer both abroad and in the United States. He currently serves on the Pulmonary/Allergy Advisory Board for the Food and Drug Administration, and on the Council of Subspeciality Societies. Active in local organizations, Dr. Honsinger has been a member of the University of New Mexico/Los Alamos Advistory board for 20 years and was also the chairman of the New Meixco Medicaid Advisory Committee. He is on the editorial board of allergy journals and is the editor of "Handbook of Drug Allergy."
He and his wife, Marian, raised their five children in Los Alamos.
Dr. Honsinger is available for consultation, but he is not accpeting new patients for primary care.
