John A. Garcia, MD

Dr. John Garcia is a highly skilled orthopaedic surgeon with a strong background in arthroscopy and sports medicine. His expertise also includes extensive joint replacements, treatment of the hands, and fracture care.

Board certified with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Garcia earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern at Dallas and completed his residency in Orthopaedic surgery at St. Louis University. He has demonstrated a strong allegiance to the United States, attending the United States Military Academy (West Point) where he was honored with the Superintendent's Award for outstanding academic and military achievement. He went on to serve in the ARMY during Desert Storm where he earned the Bronze Star Medal for exceptional service and was recognized with the prestigious ARMY Commendation Medal for meritorious service.

Dr. Garcia recently relocated to Northern New Mexico with his wife Stephanie and their two children, Grant and Chase.  He opened his clinic doors at Los Alamos Medical Center on August 1st, 2008.
